 GAERG new President

GAERG gets a new Leader.

Last month, on June 6th 2010, GAERG held its general ssembly and elected a new executive committee.

The handover ceremony between Mr Abdel Aziz MWISENEZA, the former President of GAERG and the newly elected, Mrs Marie Claire GATAYIRE took place on Monday, 12th July 2010 in GAERG permanent secreatriat Office located at Remera/Gisimenti.

The two signed the handover report that contained, among other things, the administrative tools of the Association and was prisided over by Mr Fidele Rwamuhizi the President of Arbitrary committee, which prepared and supervised the elections.

The two leaders expressed gratitude to one another for the cooperation and harmonious working relations and emphasized that the same collaboration will continue particularly because their vision focuses the same direction.

Mrs Marie Claire Gatayire pledged to work hard towards achieving the community goals and made a sound call to all executive Committee members and all GAERG members to work hand in hand so that the Association in particular and the whole genocide survivor’s community fight against genocide consequences and ideology. "Together, we shall overcome", she stated.

Before the new appointment, Mrs Marie Claire Gatayire was the commissioner incharge of Social affairs for the last two years, a key position in GAERG that really played a tremendous role in the well being of GAERG Members and helped so much in providing assistance to Genocide survivors community, especially AERG members in various secondary schools and universities.
